Maker of the Week - Casey Maura: Casey's Creative Musings

Hello Readers!

The lovely Casey is our next Maker of the Week. Casey was one of the first bloggers I discovered way back when I was just beginning to be interested in sewing. She inspired me to keep trying even though I had so many flops and failures there at the start. I loved reading back through all of her old blog posts and imagining being able to sew that well some day. Suffice it to say, I am fangirling a little over here! Keep reading to learn a bit more about Casey!

Happy Labor Day!

Happy Labor Day!

Hello Everyone!

I've been busy knitting away on my Find Your Fade shawl which is a pattern by Andrea Mowry of Drea Renee Knits. It is a lovely pattern and I am quite enjoying working away on it while taking advantage of the holiday to watch loads of classes on Craftsy and back episodes of the Tea & Possibilities podcast.

Episode Twenty-Four: Fall Is In The Air

The weather has been pleasantly mild here in Virginia. If you hadn't guessed, I am thoroughly enjoying it! I have done quite a bit of sewing and knitting in the past week. I am still addicted to my Find Your Fade shawl. . . It is so lovely and soft and squishy!

I've also been dyeing some yarn again. It has been absolutely amazing! I can't wait to show you what all my new colorways.

And now I'm off to pack up some more boxes. Enjoy the show!

~Emily

Hello my lovelies!

I hope all of my UK readers are enjoying the bank holiday! I am loving the very autumnal weather that has been happening here in Virginia. I didn't realize I would be this excited about fall, but this mild weather is making me long to break out the hot chocolate and sweaters!

Cheerful Socks

Cheerful Socks

I finished knitting this pair of two-at-a-time socks a few weeks ago. They are knit out of a couple of minis I had from experimenting with yarn dyeing. They are a 75% Superwash Merino/25% Nylon yarn blend which is absolutely perfect for socks.  I used the Hermione's Everyday Socks pattern by Erica Lueder which is a free pattern on Ravelry.

Hello Everybody!

I have a sewing machine again! I just got it back a few days ago so I haven’t been able to sew much yet, but I am very excited to work on a couple small projects today. Since I can't show you my most recent finished garment quite yet, I thought that I would talk about some projects I am working on and a couple future sewing plans.

Hello Everybody,

This is a recently finished knitting project. I say recently, but I actually completed knitting it on the last day of June. I initially picked the project so that I could participate in a KAL that was being co-hosted by Kristin of the Yarngasam Podcast and Voolenvine Yarns and Shauna of the Adelaide Cottage Podcast. I finished it just in the nick of time!
