As you may have seen from this post, I’ve made one version of the Deer and Doe Cardamome dress so far. I cannot express how pleased I am with how it turned out and I immediately started digging through my stash to find fabric for a second version.
I purchased this lovely quilting cotton from a semi-local fabric shop and I originally was planning to make my bazillionth version of the Megan Nielsen Matilda dress from it. But that plan has been ditched and it is now well on its way to become Cardamome #2.
I am doing everything exactly the same as on my first version except for a slight adjustment to the sleeve. Once the sleeve cuff was on, I found that the sleeve was just ever so slightly too tight around my arm at the elbow. It isn’t bad, but it pinches just a smidge which is uncomfortable.
To fix that, I am going to leave the cuff off and possibly add a ruffle similar to Abi’s hack of her Coco dress. I think it will be super cute and fun. Who doesn’t like a good ruffle? It will make the sleeve both longer and looser which will be nice.
Having made one version already, this dress is coming together very quickly. I won’t be surprised if by the time you read this, I’ve already finished it completely! So stay tuned for some finished object photos.
