Hello my dears,
As many of you may know, Rochelle of Home Row Fibre Co. and Lucky Lucille hosts the yearly Make Nine challenge. I half heartedly tried to participate last year and I ended up rushing to decide on nine things I would make. Because I didn't think through what I actually wanted or needed for my wardrobe, I hardly made any of the garments on my 2017 Make Nine list.
But never fear! I have been careful this time to select projects that I truly need and will wear constantly. Read More
Unfortunately, my sewing machine has decided to jam up on me, so I haven't been able to sew for several days. What torture! Fingers crossed it will be up and running soon, but until then I shall have to focus on my other hobbies. Read More
And May has come to an end. Did you participate in Me Made May this year? I did, and it was a little tougher than normal. I got sick, and work was crazy stressful which zapped much of my creative energy reserves. (Enough so that I am looking at getting another job very soon, but I will give a better update on that later.) It was a frustrating and amazing month all at the same time! Read More
I have been a little under the weather today. I woke up in the middle of the night with a horridly painful sore throat. Thankfully, although I did still have to go to work, I was able to come home a little early. And now I am laying in bed eating some cold watermelon to try and soothe my throat. Read More
Hello Everyone! Yes, it has been much too long since my last blog post. Thankfully, that is not completely my fault. I have been having so. many. issues. with my computer recently. Thankfully, after wiping the hard drive and re-installing everything, it appears to be back in to working order. Yay! I have been having problems with it for a few months now, so it is quite relieving to discover a brand new computer isn't needed, just a little TLC! (I do apologize for the less than stellar quality of the pictures. The lighting wasn't ideal. I am hoping to purchase a better camera soon!) Read More
The Make Nine Initiative was started by Rochelle who blogs over at Lucky Lucille. (You can read all the details at this blog post.) In a brief summary: the goal of the Make Nine Initiative is to encourage creativity by choosing nine sewing or knitting patterns/projects (or any other hobbies) that you want to make throughout 2017. One of the benefits of this "challenge" is it's total flexibility. If a pattern that you have selected at the beginning of the year becomes less appealing as time passes, you can simply switch it out. Read More
One Week One Pattern officially ends today. I have so enjoyed participating in it. It's kind of like a miniature Me-Made-May. You've already seen day 1 and 2 here, but I have five more outfits to show you. Read More
Today is the day: the Ginghamalong submission deadline. And, thankfully, I actually have a completed object!
This is a Colette Patterns Negroni shirt. I made size XS without any adjustments. It is made from a gingham quilting cotton that I purchased at Joann Fabrics. The buttons are from my stash. (Rest assured, the hem is even. The way the shirt is hanging off the mannequin and the angle of the picture make it look way off. . .) Read More
